2008 Turkey and fixin’s giveaway

I can’t say it any better than Sam has on his blog!!!  Here’s a copy:

I spoke to Paul Wilken last night and it looks like we are a few dollars shy of $1000 that has been donated by the Living Stones Church for this year’s Turkey & Fixin’s Giveaway.

Do you know how crazy awesome that is?!?!?!  THAT IS AWESOME!

We will be able to bless many of families on the south side of South Bend with some good Thanksgiving grub.  Thank you for your generosity and support!  This truly is wonderful!

Trunk or Treat

Last night was great!  We had a ton of children come out and enjoy the trunk or treat at LSC!  Tons of hot dogs, chips, cider, coffee and water was available – not mention all of the people who opened up their trunks for LOTS OF CANDY!

It was a great event!  GREAT JOB KRISTIN AND MELISSA!

December event is on!!!

Talked with the Erskine committee last week and it looks like the Luminary Walk is on!!!  This was a great event last couple of years and this one will be just as good!  STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS!!!!

Upcoming events…

We are hosting a “Trunk or Treat” on Friday October 31st at Living Stones Church from 5 to 7 pm.  Please sign up for bringing candy or whatever else you can help with that evening.  Kristin and Melissa are leading this event and it will be fantastic.  What a wonderful way to reach out to the children around our church!

Also coming soon, we will be asking for donations for our Thanksgiving baskets that we will be giving away.  Keep a close watch in the bulletin and listen to the announcements.  Paul and Sarah are leading this event….

Hey everyone – you’ve heard about it (from Sam), read about it (in the bulletin)…..so come on out and help us bless the residents of Ironwood Rehab Center this Saturday from 10 to 11:30!

Hope to see everyone there – especially children and pets – I’ve heard the residents just love this part of the visits….

 

Youth Group Rocks!

Hey everyone – a big thank you to the youth group tonight…..they assembled the candy in eggs for the giveaway this coming Sunday!  And thanks to Amy, Sarah, Paul, Tate, Miranda, Jason, Cynthia and Curt (and anyone else I may have forgotten) who showed up to help coordinate the youth’s efforts!  Thanks to everyone again for the donations of the candy too….

Thank you to everyone who brought candy in today (and previously of course)….

Thanks to Amy, the youth group will be assembling the eggs on Wednesday night this week….along with their leaders and Sarah (thanks Sarah too)!!!

So if you missed bringing your candy in today, bring it to the building by 3 pm Wednesday at the latest so it can be assembled Wednesday night.

Reminder!!!!

Don’t forget to bring your candy in on Sunday! 

 And don’t forget about the time change – move your clocks 1 hour forward before you go to bed!  I really don’t like this change thing – I guess I’ll just have to “go along with the crowd”…. 

 The plan for the candy is this:  Jennae is going to come up with a label and we are going to use the large eggs from the Easter Egg Hunt last year!  We will be putting the candy inside the eggs on Wednesday (thanks to Amy and the youth group and the youth volunteers!) and have them ready for you to take some when you leave after services on Sunday March 16th….
